Safety Culture
Diversified Construction and Design believes safety is everyone's business. That's why every person working under the umbrella of DCD makes safety their number one priority. Every member of our team is tasked with, not only taking ownership of ones own safety, but also actively supporting and enforcing the safety of others. We have developed a Safety Culture to help establish a safe working environment that creates leadership and a full-time commitment to safety from each employee.
Our goal is to keep our people and the environments in which they work, safe and healthy. To that end, we put policies and procedures in place to make sure that adherence to proper safety practices is a 24/7 commitment on everyone's part. We train our employees on these policies and procedures so that they have a better understanding of our practices which results in a safer working environment for all.
At DCD, we believe that a proper safety culture is not created by “sheer luck”; rather, it is created through proper education, preparation, and application of safety policies and procedures. This starts at the top with leadership modeling these behaviors and holding one another accountable. That’s why we have “Target Zero” for zero recordable / lost time injuries being our goal every year. We also enforce “Zero Tolerance” for “low hanging fruit”-type safety violations.
